Its main role is to provide the public with information that is timely and accurate. This is achieved by interviewing leading politicians, journalists and other people in the news industry.

Reeta Chakrabarti is a newsreader correspondent and journalist with over 10 years’ experience in broadcasting. She has covered a wide range of topics in the UK and internationally. Her career began as a reporter on BBC’s Breakfast Programme, and soon she was presenting news on radio and television. Currently, she is a news presenter on the BBC News Channel.
Reeta Chakrabarti grew up in Birmingham, and spent time living in India as a teenager. She is British and is married to Paul Hamilton, a professor of English at Queen Mary University. They have three children together.
Mike Bushell
Mike Bushell is an English broadcaster who works as a sports reporter on BBC News. He has worked as a journalist for the BBC since 1990. In the past, he has presented BBC Breakfast and BBC South Today, as well as the BBC News channel. His work has won him the hearts of millions of viewers. Bushell is one of the most popular sports presenters in the world, and his social media following is enormous. Reeta Husain
Reeta Husain is an award-winning BBC news presenter. She began her career in journalism in Pakistan, where she worked as a city reporter. Later, she moved to London to work as a producer and presenter for Bloomberg Television. In 1998, she was hired as a junior producer for the BBC News 24 channel. Since then, Husain has served as a foreign correspondent on several occasions. She has also written autobiographical essays, produced a documentary about the Arab Spring, and been a part of the BBC’s Olympic Presenting team.
Reeta Husain joined BBC Radio 5 Live in 2004. She studied English and French at Exeter College, Oxford. She now resides in London with her husband, Paul Hamilton.
Reeta Edwards
The role of a female news journalist has remained a male-dominated one for a long time. Yet, Reeta Edwards has a strong sense of feminist values and pride in her career. A mother of three, she aims to be a role model for young girls in pursuing careers in journalism. She hopes that as she grows in her position, more women will consider broadcast journalism as a career. She owes much of her success to her female colleagues who came before her.
Edwards has a Welsh background and was educated at University College, Cardiff. She then became a reporter in Swansea Sound, a local newspaper. After graduating, Edwards joined the BBC and became the main presenter of BBC News at Ten on BBC One. She has also presented a number of other shows including the Festival of Remembrance, which was screened at the BBC in 2010. She has also covered the 2008 US presidential election and the London Olympics.
